Its is a commercial bank formed as per RRBs act 1976 by merging of Sri Anantha Grameena Bank,Rayalaseema Grameena Bank, Pinakini Grameena Bank which is operated in five districts of Andhra Pradesh named as Kadapa, Kurnool, Ananthapuram, Prakasam and Nellore.
The Head office of Andhra Pragati Geameena Bank is in Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank is spronsored by Canara bank and the ownership for this bank is Govt. of India (50%), Canara Bank (35%), Andhra Govt. (15%). The main motto to form rrbs is to provide banking facilities in rural areas and to boost small businesses in rural area.
